Pumpkin Fest happened on Oct 16th and 17th this year. One day was sunny, the second day it rained (not fog - rain). We set a record for Mariner's Mac 'n Cheese sales. The students also came up with a jingle to help promote the yummy product.

The Half Moon Bay Fire Department, The Half Moon Bay Rotary and Mariners Church teamed up to improve the lives of 3 families living in Canada Cove on Saturday, April 24th. The team did yard work, cleanup inside and removed/reinstalled siding. Thanks to everyone who helped out.

Mariners Church has undertaken a monumental venture in selecting a community in San Salvador, El Salvador to invest the next 10 years of time and resources with the goal of revitalizing the area both spiritually and economically. We have chosen to partner with Christ for the Cities International who already have a presence there. Our church participated with the national organization, Rebuilding Together, on a local project in Half Moon Bay. We did some rahab on a Head Start facility by cleaning up rust on playground equipment and fencing, installing a new floor in the main rooms, installing gutters and a French Drain to deal with water flow, and some light touch up painting.

Serving our World is a high value in Surf's Up. This year our fall service project was once again Operation Christmas Child. It was great seeing our kids excited and joyful considering others and hoping to make their Christmas more joyful.

Surf's Up Families revved up their creative engines and made cars out of vegetables and competed with each other at our annual Grand Prix. Fastest car went to the Hekkert Family, Most Creative Car went to the Ling Family, and Most Spirited Family went to the Symes.

- Surf's Up - Take the Plunge Day Camp
Take the Plunge Day Camp was really great this year! We had over 70 children in our water-park themed camp. The kids raised over $780 for our sponsored orphanage children in Mexico. We went to the beach, bowling, the park, ice skating and watched movies for our afternoon field trips.

High School Families Memorial Weekend Camping Trip: Many families went to Lake Sonoma for a boat-in camping trip.

Moi joined us at our church for a concert on "Moi 1st" (May). It was a great event! If you have pictures, get them to the church office!
- Free Yard Sale
The Joy of Life Small group put together a service project to help people in our community with free household items and clothing. This was their second (now) annual venture and was attended by grateful residents who couldn't believe the amount of items that people were just giving to them.

Following a Saturday Night Youth Meeting we went to Pastor Len's house to hang out and have chocolate fountain fondue.

20 Middle Schoolers, 4 cameras, a list of crazy things to do and find, and Half Moon Bay. These all add up to a fun event. See the kids on all sorts of crazy poses and places.

To kick off a mentorship program for our teen ladies, a tea party was given.
- Surf's Up Operation Christmas Child
Surf's Up Clubs; Breakout, Kid'sQuest and Little Lambs, participated in a Fall Service Project to gather and pack items in shoe boxes to be given to children around the world as Christmas gifts! We joined Operation Christmas Child campaign sponsored by Samaritan's Purse in which our clubs made 102 boxes and the adults matched us to have Mariners combined total of 208! The pictures here are of the Kid'sQuest Club making their boxes.
- Surf's Up Grand Prix
Every Fall Surf's Up has a race unlike any other. A potato, carrot, toothpicks, and wheels are turned into cars to race down a track. This family event is full of fun and prizes are given to the fastest car, most creative car, and most spirited family.

Great fun as Ignite dressed up, had outrageous games and went to the corn maze!
- Surf's Up - Surfin' Safari Day Camp 06
Mariners'/Surf Up's first venture into doing an event like this and it was a huge success. We had nearly 60 kids and a great team of volunteers who put on the greatest event. Lessons and activities in the mornings, fieldtrips in the afternoon and exhaustion in the evenings. But it was worth it!

Elementary Age Camp at Hume Lake is our annual summer tradition! It is an awesome camp!
- Surf's Up - Breakout Mexico Trip 06
Every June the 5th grade grads of Breakout go with a parent on a missions trip to Rancho de Sus Ninos orphanage just outside of Tijuana. This is a great opportunity to put 3 years of their discipleship training into action and lay a foundation for going into middle school. The kids learn to serve, see that you can be happy in Christ without material possessions, and that hard work is rewarding.
